Regular Season Round 6: Beijing Ducks - Xinjiang FT 99-97

Eighth-ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (2-2) was very close to win a game against top-ranked Beijing Ducks (6-0) on Friday. Beijing Ducks managed to secure only two-point victory 99-97. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Xinjiang Flying Tige trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 29-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 97-99 at the end of the game. Beijing Ducks shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. 30 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 assists. The other American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Australian point guard Patrick Mills (183-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 32 points and the former international center Bateer Mengke (210-75) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 16 assists in the effort for Xinjiang Flying Tige. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side keeps the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with Bayi Fubang and Shanxi Zh.. Beijing Ducks are looking forward to face Shanxi Zhongyu (#8) in Taiyuan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play on the road against TianJin Rongcheng in Tianjin and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
