There was no surprise in Ottawa, ON where 6th ranked Warriors (4-4) were outplayed by second ranked Gee-Gees (4-4) 119-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gee-Gees led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Warriors' 30. They outrebounded Warriors 34-19 including a 26-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gee-Gees shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Warriors were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international guard Warren Ward (196-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Gabriel Gonthier-Dubue (196) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Gee-Gees players scored in double figures. Guard Wayne Bridge (188-90) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Mike Wright (180-91) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gee-Gees maintains second place with 4-4 record having just 0 points less than leader Concordia, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Warriors. Warriors lost their third game in a row. Gee-Gees will have a break next round.
