The biggest surprise of round 12 in Eredivisie was guest Den Bosch's (7-3) road victory over second-best Leiden (6-4) 76-68 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-68. Den Bosch made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Leiden outrebounded Den Bosch 37-25 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) who scored 15 points and 5 assists. International forward Kees Akerboom (200-83, agency: Court Side) chipped in 14 points. Five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Worthy de Jong (194-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 14 points respectively. Den Bosch have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion Leiden dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Zwolle. Den Bosch are looking forward to face Nijmegen (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Leiden will have a break next round.
