Important game to mention about took place in Eivissa. Second ranked Conquero (9-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Space Tanit Eivissa (5-5) 82-79 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 24-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. Conquero forced 20 Space Tanit Eivissa turnovers. It was a great evening for Canadian-Dutch swingman Janelle Bekkering (182-88, college: Gonzaga) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Lidia Mirchandani (172-76) helped adding 15 points and 7 assists. Four Conquero players scored in double figures. American forward Crista Ricketts (185-85, college: La Salle) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Anna Boleda (181-81) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Conquero have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Pais Vasco lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Group B. Space Tanit Eivissa at the other side dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Conquero will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Space Tanit Eivissa will play on the road against Las Rozas (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
