Regular Season Round 11: Musel Pikes - Heffingen 79-50
Date: December 3, 2011
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Musel Pikes (5-6) crushed bottom-ranked Heffingen (1-10) in Stadrbredimus 79-50 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-50. Musel Pikes forced 25 Heffingen turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American-British forward Philip Perre (198-79, college: N.Alabama) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) accounted for 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Canadian forward Billy McNutt (203-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and Portuguese power forward Helder Carvalho (205-84) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Heffingen in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Musel Pikes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Soleuvre. Newly promoted Heffingen stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with BBC Nitia. Musel Pikes will meet league's second-placed Sparta in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Heffingen will play against BBC Nitia (#9) in Bettembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
