Regular Season Round 20: Aishin AW - Fujitsu RW 66-69

Eighth-ranked Aishin Wings (2-18) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Fujitsu RW (13-7) in Anjo on Saturday. The visitors from Kawasaki managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aishin Wings won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. Power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) added 17 points in the effort for Aishin Wings. Aishin Wings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fujitsu RW have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Aishin Wings lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Fujitsu RW are looking forward to face Denso Iris (#4) in Kariya in the next round. Aishin Wings will play on the road against the league's leader JX Sunflowers (#1) in Kashiwa and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
