Regular Season Round 9: Panasonic T. - Mitsubishi DD 82-98

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (6-12) won against 5th ranked Panasonic Trians (8-10) in Osaka 98-82. The game was mostly controlled by Mitsubishi Dolphins. Panasonic Trians was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mitsubishi Dolphins shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) who scored 27 points and 4 assists. American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Hiroyuki Kinoshita (178-80) added 9 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains seventh place with 6-12 record. Panasonic Trians at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins' next round opponent will be higher ranked Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panasonic Trians' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Osaka to the arena Hitachi Sunrockers.
