There was a small surprise in St.Catharines, ON where fourth ranked Badgers (6-2) smashed 4th placed Blues (3-5) 95-55 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-55. Badgers forced 26 Blues turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Badgers looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Blues' players. It was a great evening for forward Mark Gibson (198) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Jameson Tipping (196, college: W.Kentucky) helped adding 24 points. Center Andrew Wasik (201) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Sean Nickel (196) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Badgers moved-up to second place, which they share with Alberta. Loser Blues dropped to the third position with five games lost. Badgers will face Gryphons (#5) in Guelph, ON in the next round.
