Regular Season Round 11: Windsor - Queen's 74-56

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Windsor, ON where bottom-ranked Golden Gaels (0-8) were defeated by seventh ranked Lancers (5-3) 74-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lancers. Golden Gaels was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lancers dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Golden Gaels' 26. They outrebounded Golden Gaels 49-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for international forward international forward Lien Phillip (203-89) (203-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Guard guard Josh Collins (186-90) (186-90) helped adding 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Lancers' coach Chris Oliver used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. International forward international forward Lien Phillip (203-89) (203-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and guard guard Josh Collins (186-90) (186-90) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lancers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guelph and UFV. Golden Gaels lost their eighth game in a row. They still closes the standings with eight games lost. Lancers will face higher ranked Marauders (#3) in Hamilton, ON in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
