There was a minor upset in Starogard where 9th ranked AZS Koszalin (5-7) was defeated by eleventh ranked Polpharma (4-9) 91-82 on Saturday. AZS Koszalin trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 27-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-91 at the end of the game. American guard Tony Weeden (186-83, college: Chicago St.) scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo.) chipped in 19 points during the contest. American forward George Reese (201-77, college: Ohio St., agency: Alti Sport) responded with 18 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Marcin Dutkiewicz (196-86) scored 18 points. Four AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. Polpharma moved-up to tenth place, which they share with PBG Basket. AZS Koszalin lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Polpharma will meet higher ranked Siarka Jezioro (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS Koszalin will play against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg and hope to secure a win.
