Regular Season Round 12: Breogan - Clavijo 84-88

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked CB Clavijo (4-8) won against higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (6-6) in Lugo 88-84 on Saturday. Leche Rio Breogan was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a good game for American point guard Mathew Witt (183-84, college: E.Kentucky) who led his team to a victory with 31 points. Naturalized American forward Jeffrey Bonds (199-82, college: Cal Poly Pomona) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. CB Clavijo's coach Jesus Sala used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Brooks Sales (208-80, college: Villanova) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Joseph Krabbenhoft (201-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: N.E.T.) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Leche Rio Breogan. Four Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. CB Clavijo moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Leche Rio Breogan keeps the eighth position with six games lost. CB Clavijo will face bottom-ranked Clinicas Rincon (#18) in Malaga in the next round.
