Ninth-ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (1-9) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Dexia Mons-Hainaut (6-4). The visitors from Quaregnon managed to secure only two-point victory 69-67. However their fans expected much easier game. VOO Verviers-Pepinster was ahead by 11 points after three quarters before a 21-8 charge of Dexia Mons-Hainaut, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for forward Ahmad Nivins (206-87, college: St.Joseph's) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). point guard Sean Singletary (183-85, college: Virginia) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Guard TJ Thompson (177-82, college: G.Washington) came up with 21 points and power forward Jason Love (206-87, college: Xavier) added 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for VOO Verviers-Pepinster in the defeat. Dexia Mons-Hainaut moved-up to second place, which they share with Aalstar. VOO Verviers-Pepinster at the other side stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Dexia Mons-Hainaut will play against Base Oostende (#6) at home in the next round. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will play against the league's second-placed Okapi Aalstar to get more than just one victory in their record.
