The game in Handlova was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Svit (8-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Handlova (7-9). Handlova did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 90-72. The game was mostly controlled by Handlova. Svit was better in fourth quarter 23-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Handlova forced 20 Svit turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American swingman Anthony Jones (194-84, college: Indiana Tech) notched a triple-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Sean Hampton (195-75, college: Alders.-Broad.) supported him with 15 points and 6 assists. Four Handlova players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by forward Vincent Polakovic (203-84, college: USF) did not help to save the game for Svit. American guard Julian Mascoll (193-84) added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Svit's coach Milan Cernicky rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Handlova maintains sixth position with 7-9 record. Svit at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Handlova's next round opponent will be higher ranked Prievidza (#3) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Svit will play against Levice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
