We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Zyrardowianka (4-6) was rolled over at home by eighth ranked Korsarz Gdansk (4-5) 88-59 on Saturday. Korsarz Gdansk outrebounded Zyrardowianka 39-26 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) who scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Jakub Zalucki (194-89) chipped in 22 points. Korsarz Gdansk's coach Andrzej Kwasniewski felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Marek Kuran (200-83) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Mariusz Lapinski (194-82) added 12 points and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Korsarz Gdansk moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with Trefl II Sopot. Loser Zyrardowianka dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Korsarz Gdansk will face higher ranked Zuraw Gniewno (#5) in Gniewino in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zyrardowianka will play on the road against Ksiezak Lowicz (#4).
