Very expected game in Venezia where 11th ranked Marghera (3-7) was defeated by second ranked Milano (9-1) 61-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Milano. Marghera was better in third quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Power forward Ntumba Madelene Mitongu (180-81) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Silvia Gottardi (176-78) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Bulgarian forward Anna Rimpova (183-82) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Marta Granzotto (176-92) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Milano have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader, which they share with Vigarano. Loser Marghera dropped to the tenth place with seven games lost. Milano will face Bolzano (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Marghera will play against Virtus Cagliari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
