There was no surprise in Nagoya where 6th ranked Chanson V-M (7-12) was defeated by second ranked Toyota A. (15-4) 76-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 20-3 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Toyota A. dominated on the defensive end, holding Chanson V-M to just 3 points in fourth quarter. It was a great evening for international guard Emi Kudeken (165-84) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of her seven free throws). Power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the losing side swingman Key Miho (176-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and international swingman Saori Fujiyoshi (178-87) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toyota A. maintains second place with 15-4 record behind leader JX Sunflowers. Chanson V-M lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Toyota A. will again meet Chanson V-M (#6) in the next round. Chanson V-M will have a break next round.
