An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kariya. First ranked JX Sunflowers faced 3rd placed Denso Iris. Guests from Kashiwa (16-3) defeated host Denso Iris (12-7) 70-61. Denso Iris were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 21-9 charge of JX Sunflowers, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Denso Iris' 36. Guard Oh Okami (170-82) fired 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). International center Maki Takada (183-89) produced 26 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Akiko Obata (165-81) added 6 points and 10 assists respectively for lost side. JX Sunflowers have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-3 record. Denso Iris at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Fujitsu RW. JX Sunflowers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
