No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Polonia (5-6) crushed 13th ranked Sudety (2-10) in Przemysl 85-54 on Sunday. The game without a history. Polonia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sudety's 40. They outrebounded Sudety 35-18 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Polonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sudety's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Polonia made 12 blocks. It was a good game for guard Hubert Mazur (190-84, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 assists. Forward Artur Mikolajko (197-79) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Polonia players scored in double figures. Polonia's coach Maciej Milan felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Lukasz Niesobski (185-85) replied with 24 points and 5 blocks (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Pawel Minciel (203-88) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Sudety. Polonia moved-up to tenth place, which they share with AZS Szczecin. Sudety lost sixth consecutive game. Sudety at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Polonia will face higher ranked SKK Siedlce (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sudety will play against MOSiR Krosno (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
