An interesting game for Sparta (9-2) which played road game in Ettelbruck against 3rd placed Etzella (7-4). Second ranked Sparta had an easy win 99-54. The game without a history. Sparta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American point guard Kasey Ulin (184-82, college: Dickinson St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) helped adding 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sparta players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Nelson Delgado (188-80) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Sparta have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader T71. Etzella at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Amicale. Sparta will play against Musel Pikes (#6) in Stadrbredimus in the next round. Etzella will play on the road against Residence in Bereldange and hopes to get back on the winning track.
