Important game to mention about took place in Nagano. Sixth ranked Shinshu BW (8-8) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Niigata Albirex (7-7) 78-75 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Shinshu BW made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds and forward Erron Maxey (198-78, college: Providence) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex's coach Matt Garrison rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shimane SM. Niigata Albirex at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Shinshu BW will play against Saitama Broncos (#9) on the road in the next round. Niigata Albirex will play against Toyama Grouses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
