Regular Season Round 7: Shandong FB - DongGuan L. 94-100

There was a minor upset in Jinan where higher ranked Shandong Bulls (3-4) were defeated by thirteenth ranked DongGuan Leopards (3-4) 100-94 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shandong Bulls won third quarter 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 30 points. American swingman Alan Anderson (198-82, college: Michigan St., agency: Priority Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 6 assists and Liberian-American forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) added 17 points and 23 rebounds respectively for lost side. Shandong Bulls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for DongGuan Leopards. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Shandong Bulls. Shandong Bulls lost their fourth game in a row. DongGuan Leopards will meet higher ranked Foshan (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shandong Bulls will play against Fujian SBS XunXin in Jinjiang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
