Regular Season Round 11: Soleuvre - Residence 82-81

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Diekirch League took place in Belvaux. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Residence (4-7) to eighth ranked Soleuvre (5-6) 82-81 on Sunday evening. Residence was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-21 charge of Soleuvre, which allowed them to win the game. American Lamonte Ulmer (198-86, college: Rhode Island) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Andy Schammo (185-92) contributed with 24 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Marcus Kennedy (193-84, college: Montevallo, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Isl. Forward Jerome Gumbs (194-82, college: USF) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Residence. Five Residence players scored in double figures. Soleuvre moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Musel Pikes. Residence at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Soleuvre is looking forward to face league's leader T71 in Dudelange in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Residence will play at home against Etzella (#3) in Ettelbruck and is hoping to win this game.
