Very expected game in Tianjin where 17th ranked TianJin Rongcheng (2-5) was defeated by tenth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (3-2) 121-108 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. TianJin Rongcheng managed to win second period 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely TianJin Rongcheng outrebounded Xinjiang Flying Tige 46-28 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 22 long-distance shots on high 61.1 percentage. Xinjiang Flying Tige looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Australian point guard Patrick Mills (183-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) fired 42 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. The former international center Bateer Mengke (210-75) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American power forward Donnell Harvey (203-80, college: Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and forward GuiJun Xu (202-80) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige and five TianJin Rongcheng players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bayi Fubang. TianJin Rongcheng lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Qingdao DS and Jiangsu D.. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet at home Qingdao Double Star (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TianJin Rongcheng will play against Shanxi Zhongyu in Taiyuan and hope to secure a win.
