Regular Season Round 12: Anagni - Fabriano 61-56

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Anagni (5-7) defeated at home 5th ranked Fabriano (2-10) 61-56 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fabriano won third quarter 14-4. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Anagni won last quarter 20-16. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Riccardo Santolamazza (195-83) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and point guard Alessandro Zanelli (187-92) who added 12 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Giulio Castelletta (206-92) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Anagni moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Chieti. Newly promoted Fabriano keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Anagni will face Matera (#6) on the road in the next round. Fabriano will play against Mazzeo San Severo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
