A1 top team - Taranto (7-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Priolo (1-7) 67-47. Priolo was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 38-16 second half run of Taranto. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Priolo to just 6 points in third quarter. They also forced 24 Priolo turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international guard Giorgia Sottana (177-88) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and Romanian center Florina Pascalau (193-82) who added 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Taranto's coach Roberto Ricchini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Taranto have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Umbertide. Priolo at the other side stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. They share the position with Alcamo and Cagliari CUS. Taranto will play against Alcamo (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Priolo will play against Cagliari CUS and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
