WNBL top team - Adelaide Lightning (9-2) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Canberra Capitals (4-8) 84-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Canberra Capitals. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 18-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Adelaide Lightning looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (193-80) nailed 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and international center Abby Bishop (189-88) accounted for 18 points and 11 rebounds. International guard Carly Wilson (181-82) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Jessica Bibby (169-79) added 21 points respectively for Canberra Capitals in the defeat. Five Canberra Capitals players scored in double figures. Adelaide Lightning have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-2 record. Loser Canberra Capitals keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Adelaide Lightning will meet at home Logan Thunder (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Canberra Capitals will play against the league's second-placed Sydney Uni Flames and hope to secure a win.
