Regular Season Round 7: Beijing Ducks - Shanxi Zh. 121-97
Date: December 4, 2011
CBA top team - Beijing Ducks (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (2-3) 121-97. The game without a history. Beijing Ducks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 33-of-42 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Beijing Ducks outrebounded Shanxi Zhongyu 45-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by Shanxi Zhongyu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Zhe Ji (202-89) helped adding 19 points and 12 rebounds. Five Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Marcus Williams (201-86, college: Arizona, agency: Interperformances) scored 31 points (made all of his eight free throws). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing Ducks have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Shanxi Zhongyu at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Beijing Ducks are looking forward to face Bayi Fubang (#7) in Ningbo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Shanxi Zhongyu will play on the road against TianJin Rongcheng (#17) in Tianjin and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
