Regular Season Round 18: Takamatsu FA - Iwate Big Bulls 70-77

Bottom-ranked Takamatsu FA is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 16th consecutive match to tenth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (3-13) 77-70 on Sunday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Takamatsu FA won third quarter 21-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Iwate Big Bulls won last quarter 23-18. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Takamatsu FA outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 39-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. American power forward LaShawn Malloy (209-84, college: New Orleans) notched 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Even 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) did not help to save the game for Takamatsu FA. STVn center Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) added 16 points and 13 rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls maintains tenth position with 3-13 record. Loser Takamatsu FA still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will meet at home higher ranked Oita Heat Devils (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Takamatsu FA will play against Shimane Magic and hopes to get finally their first victory.
