No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Sundsvall Dragons (9-5) beat at home 6th ranked Uppsala Basket (7-8) 81-64 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 46-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Sundsvall Dragons dominated on the defensive end, holding Uppsala Basket to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Uppsala Basket 43-25 including a 36-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sundsvall Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for Icelandic power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Icelandic guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Sundsvall Dragons players scored in double figures. Guard Rickard Eriksson (190-82) answered with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Stefan Grundberg (198-82, college: Geneva) added 19 points and 6 steals in the effort for Uppsala Basket. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sundsvall Dragons maintains fourth place with 9-5 record. Uppsala Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Sundsvall Dragons will face 08 Stockholm (#5) on the road in the next round. Uppsala Basket will play against 08 Stockholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
