Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked KTP-Basket (4-12) lost to fourth ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (10-4) in Kotka 75-90 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Tampereen Pyrinto. KTP-Basket was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tampereen Pyrinto made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. KTP-Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. Guard Kenneth Lowe (192-80, college: Purdue) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Amal McCaskill (211-73, college: Marquette) added 12 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for KTP-Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tampereen Pyrinto have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Nilan Bisons. KTP-Basket lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Tampereen Pyrinto will face bottom-ranked Namika Lahti (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KTP-Basket will play against Kouvot in Kouvola.
