Regular Season Round 12: Valga - Parnu 87-69
Date: December 6, 2011
Bottom-ranked Valga/CKE managed to get a second victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Tuesday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked KK Parnu 87-69. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference proves that Valga/CKE was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Valga/CKE. KK Parnu managed to win second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valga/CKE forced 24 KK Parnu turnovers and outrebounded them 38-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of British forward Samuel Cricelli (200-85, college: Caldwell) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Veljo Vares (200-81) who added 22 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Valga/CKE players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Rannar Raap (188-92) with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Toomas Raadik (202-90) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Valga/CKE maintains eighth position with 2-10 record. Loser KK Parnu keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Valga/CKE will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KK Parnu will play against the league's leader Tartu Ulikool (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
