The game in Minsk supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Rubon (3-4) played at the court of 5th ranked BGUIR-RTI (2-6). Rubon smashed BGUIR-RTI 91-69 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Rubon. BGUIR-RTI managed to win fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rubon forced 31 BGUIR-RTI turnovers. The former international guard Dmitri Akulich (192-86) nailed 24 points, 8 assists and 7 steals for the winning side and forward Dimitri Sivalko (199-85) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds. Akulich is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Coach Ruslan Baidakov's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Genniadiy Zakhar (198-92) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Evgeniy Sugoniako (198-92) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for BGUIR-RTI in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rubon maintains fourth place with 3-4 record. BGUIR-RTI lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Rubon will meet at home bottom-ranked Sozh Gomel (#7) in the next round. BGUIR-RTI's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Minsk-2006 II.
