Regular Season Round 18: KTP - Kouvot 81-91

Rather predictable result in Kotka where seventh ranked Kouvot (8-8) defeated 10th ranked KTP-Basket (4-13) 91-81 on Wednesday. KTP-Basket was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Amal McCaskill (211-73, college: Marquette) added 20 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Five Kouvot and four KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. Kouvot moved-up to sixth place. KTP-Basket lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Kouvot will meet at home league's second-placed Loimaan Korikonkarit in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KTP-Basket will play against Salon Vilpas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
