Regular Season Round 12: Langhus - Asker Aliens 36-92

Bottom-ranked Langhus IL (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-36 loss to third ranked Asker Aliens (9-3) in Oslo. The game was mostly controlled by Asker Aliens. Langhus IL was better in fourth quarter 9-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Langhus IL to just 6 points in second quarter. Asker Aliens dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Langhus IL's 32 and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Langhus IL only scored one point from the stripe. They outrebounded Langhus IL 52-25 including a 42-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Anthony Lee-Ingram (198, college: Brescia, KY, agency: Warren Sports International) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Cooper Land (203-88, college: Wright St., agency: Warren Sports International) supported him with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Four Asker Aliens players scored in double figures. Asker Aliens' coach Jamie Andrisevic felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds by center Gisle Klubnes (202-84) did not help to save the game for Langhus IL. Guard Bjornar Andersen (187-89) added 5 points. Defending champion maintains third position with 9-3 record behind leader Froya Basket. Newly promoted Langhus IL still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Asker Aliens' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Baerum Basket in Bekkestua and it will be for sure the game of the week. Langhus IL's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Centrum.
