Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked 08 Stockholm (10-6) edged on the road 6th ranked Uppsala Basket (7-9) 76-75 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Uppsala Basket won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Joakim Blom (211-76, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Johan Akesson (210-84, agency: Warren Sports International) who added 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Rickard Eriksson (190-82) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and the former international swingman Stefan Grundberg (198-82, college: Geneva) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. 08 Stockholm have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-6 record. Uppsala Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. 08 Stockholm will face Sodertalje Kings (#6) at home in the next round. Uppsala Basket will play against KFUM Jamtland and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
