An interesting game took place in Leon where 12th ranked Baloncesto Leon (6-7) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (5-8) 77-69. The game without a history. CB Tarragona 2017 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jonathan Mitchell (200-87, college: Rutgers) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Ivan Martinez (193-90) contributed with 11 points and 6 assists for the winners. CB Tarragona 2017's coach Bernardo Alvarez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Dominican point guard Emmanuel Quezada (188-85, college: USF) answered with 25 points and American-Italian power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (206-82, college: Drury) added 11 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Baloncesto Leon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CB Tarragona 2017 moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Huesca and Knet Clavijo. Baloncesto Leon at the other side dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. CB Tarragona 2017's next round opponent will be CB Granada (#17) at home.
