No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (5-2) beat 12th ranked Shandong Bulls (3-6) in Urumqi 92-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Shandong Bulls was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 19 Shandong Bulls turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Kenyon Martin (206-77, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. International swingman Duo Peng (192-90) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Liberian-American forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Jie Sun (190-86) added 19 points in the effort for Shandong Bulls. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Xinjiang Flying Tige. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Zhejiang C. Shandong Bulls lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Foshan (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shandong Bulls will play against Shanxi Zhongyu in Taiyuan.
