LNBP top team - Fuerza Regia (26-6) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Lechugueros (10-22) in Monterrey 99-92. Lechugueros trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 29-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 92-99 at the end of the game. Fuerza Regia made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Lechugueros turnovers. Strangely Lechugueros outrebounded Fuerza Regia 41-26 including 17 on the offensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Lechugueros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chris Roberts (193-88, college: Bradley) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import guard Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) contributed with 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized American guard Lorenzo Keeler (188-85, college: Cal Poly - SLO) added 21 points and 4 steals in the effort for Lechugueros. Five Lechugueros players scored in double figures. Lechugueros' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Fuerza Regia have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 26-6 record. Lechugueros lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 22 games lost. Fuerza Regia are looking forward to face Toros (#3) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
