There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Staco MNLK (4-7) edged on the road higher ranked Unia Tarnow (6-5) 69-67 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Unia Tarnow won fourth quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Staco MNLK forced 27 Unia Tarnow turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Staco MNLK made 11 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Jakub Dziura (202-81) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Center Fabian Mroz (198-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Staco MNLK's coach Jaroslaw Mosio used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Przemyslaw Cygan (198-82) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and guard Tomasz Zych (188-87) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively. Four Unia Tarnow players scored in double figures. Staco MNLK moved-up to tenth place in Group C. Loser Unia Tarnow keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Staco MNLK will face Pulaski Warka (#13) at home in the next round. Unia Tarnow will play against MKS Limbach (#3) in Limanowa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
