Very predictable result in Thessaloniki where fourth ranked Asteras (6-4) defeated 10th ranked PAOK (3-7) 65-60. PAOK was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 29-23 second half run of Asteras. It was a very good performance for Latvian center Zenta Melnika (197-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Slovenian guard Katarina Ristic (174-84) contributed with 19 points and 8 assists for the winners. American guard Quenese Davis (178-88, college: San Diego St.) replied with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Stavroula Spanidou (180-84) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for PAOK. Asteras moved-up to third place, which they share with Panionios. PAOK lost third consecutive game. PAOK at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Asteras' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Apollon Kal. (#12) in Kalamarias and are hoping to win another game. PAOK will play on the road against Panathinaikos in Athens.
