Regular Season Round 10: Hitachi SR - Panasonic T. 64-68

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Osaka: Panasonic Trians (#4) and Hitachi Sunrockers (#3). Hitachi Sunrockers were defeated at home 64-68 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hitachi Sunrockers won fourth quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) supported him with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Panasonic Trians players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds by international power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) did not help to save the game for Hitachi Sunrockers. Guard Toshihiro Sato (176-80) added 11 points for lost side. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Panasonic Trians have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-10 record. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the third place with eight games lost. Panasonic Trians will play against league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against Tochigi Brex and hope to get back on the winning track.
