Date: December 10, 2011
There was no surprise in Spanga where 11th ranked Eskilstuna (1-10) was outplayed by fourth ranked Akropol (8-3) 74-50 on Saturday. The game without a history. Akropol led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Eskilstuna's 30. Akropol forced 25 Eskilstuna turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Eskilstuna's players. It was a great evening for forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds. Swingman Lamin Sonko (193-85) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Akropol players scored in double figures. Akropol's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Daniel Urban (198-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and forward Erik Jonsson (203-83) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Akropol have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place in North with 8-3 record. Eskilstuna lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Akropol will face Jarva Devils (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Eskilstuna will play against BG Lulea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
