Rather expected game when 5th ranked Pioneros (21-13) were smashed by second ranked Halcones Rojos (24-5) in Veracruz 87-57. The game without a history. Halcones Rojos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pioneros to just 3 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Pioneros 44-22 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (182-86) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Venezuelan power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds.
