Regular Season Round 11: AEK/Argous - AEK Athens 66-74
Date: December 10, 2011
Bottom-ranked AEK/Argous is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to fourth ranked AEK (8-3) 74-66 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-66. It was an exceptional evening for forward Vaggelis Sklavos (202-77) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Fotis Vasilopoulos (187-86) accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Naturalized Serbian guard Alex Stevovic (191-90) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian guard Edi Sinadinovic (190-88) added 16 points respectively for AEK/Argous in the defeat. Four AEK/Argous players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for AEK. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Apollon Patras. AEK/Argous lost their eighth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 11 games lost. AEK will meet at home Lavrio (#5) in the next round. AEK/Argous will play against Ermis Lagkada (#10) in Lagadas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
