Regular Season Round 9: Ibiza - Mann Filter 52-67

Bottom-ranked Ibiza (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 67-52 loss to eighth ranked Mann Filter (5-4) in Ibiza. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Ibiza's 20 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ibiza 45-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American power forward Jacinta Monroe (193-88, college: Florida St.) who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Cristina Ouvina (174-90) contributed with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Mann Filter's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international swingman Silvia Morales (170-79) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Catherine Scanlon (180-83, college: Drexel) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ibiza. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mann Filter. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Cadi la Seu. Ibiza lost their ninth game in a row. They still closes the standings with nine games lost. Mann Filter will play against higher ranked Rivas Ecopolis (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ibiza will play against Gran Canaria (#8) in Las Palmas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
