Regular Season Round 9: Rivas Ecopolis - Real C.Vigo 71-49

Very expected game when 12th ranked Real Celta Vigo (2-7) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Rivas Ecopolis (8-1) 71-49. They made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Forward Asjha Jones (188-80, college: Connecticut) nailed 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Essence Carson (183-86, college: Rutgers) accounted for 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Rivas Ecopolis players scored in double figures. American forward Demetress Adams (193-87, college: S.Carolina) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Senegalese forward Aya Traore (186-83, college: Purdue) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Real Celta Vigo in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rivas Ecopolis. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Perfumerias. Real Celta Vigo at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Rivas Ecopolis' next round opponent will be Mann Filter (#7) in Zaragoza which should be theoretically another easy game. Real Celta Vigo will play at home against the league's leader Ros Casares (#1) in Valencia.
