WNBL top team - Adelaide Lightning (10-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Logan Thunder (6-5) 88-67. It looked good early as Logan Thunder took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Adelaide Lightning had a 20-15 second period charge getting the lead and Logan Thunder was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-88. Adelaide Lightning made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Logan Thunder turnovers and outrebounded them 37-24 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Adelaide Lightning players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (193-80) had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and New Zealand-Italian guard Angela Marino (166-86) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Renae Camino (177-86) responded with 24 points and international center Cayla Francis (192-89) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Adelaide Lightning have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record. Logan Thunder at the other side keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Adelaide Lightning will play against bottom-ranked West Coast Waves (#10) in Perth in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Logan Thunder will play at home against Townsville Fire (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
