Very expected game when 11th ranked Angers BC 49 (6-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Blois (8-5) 73-67. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Angers BC 49 was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Blois made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (204-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Blois players scored in double figures. Blois' coach Hugues Occansey allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Olivier Sulpice (192-77) added 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Angers BC 49. Blois maintains sixth place with 8-5 record, which they share with Orchy and Roche. Angers BC 49 at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Blois' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Montbrison (#18) which should be an easy win for them. Angers BC 49 will play against Orchesien BC (#7) in Orchies.
