Regular Season Round 21: Fujitsu RW - Denso Iris 58-70

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Fujitsu RW (13-8) against fourth ranked Denso Iris (13-8) on Saturday night. Host Fujitsu RW was defeated by Denso Iris in Kawasaki 70-58. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. Fujitsu RW was better in fourth quarter 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Fujitsu RW only scored four points from the stripe. International center Maki Takada (183-89) nailed 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side and forward Tamotsu Huziwara (175-87) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. International power forward Ayumi Suzuki (179-85) came up with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Fujitsu RW in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso Iris moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Fujitsu RW. Denso Iris will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fujitsu RW will play again on the road against Denso Iris in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
