Regular Season Round 19: Toyama Grouses - Niigata Albirex 76-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Toyama Grouses' (6-9) home loss to sixth ranked Niigata Albirex (8-7) 76-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-76. It was a great evening for American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Erron Maxey (198-78, college: Providence) helped adding 22 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American-Dominican power forward Larry Turner (210-82, college: Tennessee St., agency: Strategic Sports) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Brian Harper (206-85, college: Paine, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Niigata Albirex moved-up to fifth place. Loser Toyama Grouses keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round. Toyama Grouses will play again at home against Niigata Albirex (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
